It’s a tough time for construction workers in our country. It is old like this because in case, the building work comes to an end, then not only the construction workers but also their family will be left in a horrible situation. Some people ask what would be the reason for such situation to take place, reported review Amarprakash builders. The reason is quoted as ‘continuing increase in cement cost’. This price increase is the main reason for the delaying of government projects and other private housing projects for many months. In the state of Tamil Nadu, the ex chief minister of Tamil Nadu brought a new plan of providing cement for low cost than other Indian states. The government also named it as Amma cement and 50 Kg bag has been priced Rs.190.
Though, the government brought in a solution with their plan, it is considered as a timely solution since it doesn’t solve the problem. That means, the cement provided by the government doesn’t meet the needs of small-time developers, who construct project in few hundred square feet of plots or single owners who builds 1 or 2 house for their purpose, said the developer’s association, stated in review Amarprakash builders. The production of cement is about 2 lac tonnes that is not enough for the requirement and it doesn’t satisfy half the requirement of the state, said the president of Chennai Civil Engineers Association.
In January middle, 2015, the association along with the association members of flat constructors in the metro and suburbs have gathered together and conducted a meeting in order to support the cement demand and reduce its cost that is manufactured by private sectors, informed review Amarprakash builders. In private sector, the price of 50 Kg cement bag is between Rs.355 to Rs. 390 that is Rs.100 more than the cost charged in 2014. Construction workers are on the border of losing their income. This is mainly because if the building work comes to a standstill position, several families will be left in the difficult state.
As per the officials of Civil supplies and Consumer Protection Department, it is stated that the objective behind limited supply of 50 bags for every 100 sq.ft. Though Amma cement is affordable for salaried sections and low income groups helping them in constructing homes, it is not providing enough supply. As per the sources given in the Public Works Department, it is given that the work on project construction would begin only after 2 or 3 years, if this condition prevails in the market. By then, the industry cost of materials goes up manifold. The rates can also be re-evaluated, but only 3% of the total value will be deducted. Based on the Reserve Bank of India, the cost of cement will be reduced.
