During the financial year 2013, the demand for cement has gone up to 9% because of its huge requirement in the sector of construction, said the senior officials of Kotak Securities. In Nov, 2012, the cost of cement has stepped down to a price of Rs.285 per bag because of the factors like scarcity of labor, lack of power and other festive seasons. But, by the second period of 2013, the cement price has increased to about 9% since it has gained more demand. In the magazine, the experts has given a statement explaining that, huge demand is expected because of the restoration of infrastructure which sometimes result in delay in policy, improvement in realty domain along with the change in the interest rates and also huge betterments in the sector of rural housing which is carried out during healthy monsoon.
In city like Chennai, scarcity in cement has resulted in the delay of many residential projects. Most of the builders even the reputed ones are telling lack of cement supply as one of the major reason for their project delay. But Amarprakash developers won’t give these senseless reasons to their customers since no delay in hand over will occur in their life history. Whatever it is, whether lack in the supply of cement, sand, bricks, wood etc take place, for no reason the project construction will be stopped since all these items will be brought in excess by the builder. Amarprakash fraud can’t be posted by the residents since the developers will fail up the promise they have done for their customers.
Also, the dealers of cement expected the demand percentage to be 8% and 8.5% in the year 2013 and 2014 respectively. But, the percentage was 2% more than the expectation that is in 2013, the growth percent was 10 while in 2014, it was 12%. Capacity utilization also changed because of this percentage change that is 77.3 to 80.5% and from 80.6% to 95%.
Northern parts: In North side, during Oct 2012, Rs.10 to 15/bag while in Jan 2013, Rs.15 to 20 has started decreasing. Price started to raise up and down in the whole year of 2013.
